Manual Pool Covers

Manual pool covers are similar to automatic pool covers in that they can be used for pool safety, energy savings, heat loss reduction, and pool maintenance, however, you open and close the cover manually, either through a manual roller or pulling the cover off the pool yourself. With larger pools, you may need more than one person to take the cover on and off.

There are two types of Manual Pool Covers:

  1. Safety Covers
    1. Manual Top Track Safety Covers
    2. Manual Snap Down Covers
  2. Non-Safety Covers
    1. Floating Blankets
    2. Bubble Covers

Safety covers are for maintaining your pool as well as keeping your children and pets safe.

Non-safety covers will NOT protect your children or pets and are NOT for maintaining your pool, but are ONLY for heating purposes and will help with evaporation.

Manual Top Track Safety Covers

Manual top track systems have similar requirements as the automatic systems. They both need to have sufficient decking around the pool to install the track to the deck. Manual top track systems would be best used on smaller pools (16 x 32 or smaller) with minimal deck drag. Using this system on a larger pool may require two people to operate it instead of one.

To cover a pool with the manual top track system, you pull the cover out onto the pool with a rope attached to the cover. To uncover the pool you would use the manual roller that is attached to the deck and wind the roller manually.

Manual Snap Down Safety Covers

These covers are designed for customers that could not do a track system or do not want track on their deck. These covers can be used all the time or for seasonal use, like for the winter or for certain times of the year when trees are a problem. Snap down covers can conform to most any pool. The cover is installed into the deck with child-proof connectors. The roller is used to take the cover off or put the cover on. The roller is locked down, but removable and easy to store.

Manual Leaf Safety Covers

The leaf cover system adheres to the deck with spring loaded strap and anchor components. These covers can also be used at all times or for seasonal use, like for the winter or for certain times of the year when trees are a problem.

Floating Blankets

Floating blankets are used mostly for pools but can also be used for spas. When you heat your pool with gas, electricity, or solar, floating blankets are specifically designed to keep heat in the pool and reduce your heating costs. Floating blankets are a thin layer of foam covered in a special fabric. These covers require a wind-up roller system.

NOTE: Non-safety covers will NOT protect your children or pets and are NOT for maintaining your pool, but are ONLY for heating purposes and will help with evaporation.

Bubble Covers

Bubble covers are designed to add heat to your pool from the sun. They will also help with holding heat in if you have gas, electricity, or solar, but are not as efficient as a floating blanket. Bubble covers may or may not use a wind-up roller system, but it is generally best to use one.

NOTE: Non-safety covers will NOT protect your children or pets and are NOT for maintaining your pool, but are ONLY for heating purposes and will help with evaporation.
